Fundraising Ideas

Kids to Kids Members are so creative! No two fundraisers are the same, because no two kids are the same. Great fundraisers happen when each kid contributes his/her unique talents, skills, passion and ideas. Here are two examples of fundraisers we have found to be most effective!

THE GREAT COIN RACE

Through this fundraiser, Kids to Kids Members will hold a “Great Coin Race” which involves raising money for Kids to Kids projects worldwide by collecting spare change. Map out a route from your home town to a country that is supported by Kids to Kids. Calculate how many miles it is from your home town to the Kids to Kids country’s capital city and ask people to donate spare change for each mile. Learn how small change can make a big difference!

THE "A-THON": JUMP-A-THON / KICK-A-THON / ANY-A-THON

Set up a date, time and place to get people together to jump rope (or run laps dribbling a soccer ball, or a basketball, the possibilities are limitless!). Ask people to pledge you an amount of money per jump/lap and a maximum total pledge (you jump or run for up to 30 minutes, or 1 hour). Record how many jumps/laps you did and collect the money from the people who pledged.

Tip: It’s a good idea to practice once before you start collecting pledges, that way you can tell people about how many jumps/laps you think you can do in the allotted time.

NATIONAL KIDS TO KIDS DAY

Hold a fundraiser in your community, school or group in celebration of National Kids to Kids Day. National Kids to Kids Day will be on April 29th in 2011.
